Picnic Island is located in the quaint summer town of Honey Harbour on the south eastern shore of Georgian Bay. We are on the inside navigational channel heading north, providing a natural safe harbour and waterway for canoeing, kayaking and boating. Georgian Bay is home to some of the worlds best fresh-water boating and fishing. The western terminus of the Trent Severn Waterway is about 15 minutes to the south and Parry Sound approximately one hour to the north.
This is the perfect setting for family and group gatherings. Whether it’s a Spring Getaway weekend, summer holiday or fall color weekend or sport fishing trip. Only an hour and a half north of Toronto, we are the Near North! Come and enjoy the Bay at it’s best!
 We have 8 waterfront housekeeping cottages (both 2 and 3 bedroom) and 80 serviced campsites( both seasonal and transient).Cottages are fully equipped for weekend or holiday weekly stay.Come and relax on your waterfront deck and watch your children swim and play on the large sandy beach. Large floating docks at your doorstep, provide dockage for boats up to 25ft.
Excellent area for watersports, boating and sport fishing. We are accessible by road or water- located at the southern entrance of the Main Channel into Honey Harbour.
14ft. Aluminum Boats with motors and canoes are available for rent to our guests. Since Sept 15/09 an Operators Card is required to operate a boat.
Excellent fishing, and only a 10 minute ride or kayak paddle to Beausoleil Island, part of Georgian Bay Islands National Park; which features many hiking trails, beaches, day use areas, and a large variety of wildlife and interpretative programs.
